Puppy Pre-School

There are many benefits to teaching your puppy to be well behaved at an early age. Young puppies are quite able to learn obedience skills, toileting behaviour and social boundaries. All of these things help make your relationship with your dog more rewarding for the years to come.

We provide an effective Puppy Pre-school program for all of the puppies that visit our clinic. With our progressive and positive learning techniques you will:

• Develop an understanding of normal puppy behaviour.
• Learn how to read your puppy’s body language and respond appropriately.
• Develop effective techniques for positive behavioural development.
• Learn important tips about walking in public areas.
• Understand the need for socialising your puppy.
• Teach your puppy some important ‘do not’ lessons.
• Understand important boundaries when playing together.
• Develop strong bonds between you and your puppy.

Puppies have their most critical learning period between the ages of 6 to 16 weeks of age. It is important to start training and socialising your puppy as soon as you bring him/her home as he/she is learning life lessons now. It is important to remember that how you treat your puppy now will set standard for the rest of your dog’s life.

We have two puppy pre-school classes available:

Baby Puppy Pre-School

• For puppies aged 8 to 14 weeks
• Classes run for 5 weeks on a Tuesday evening at 6:30pm
• Small class sizes – No more than 4 puppies per class
• Provided mats, treats, toys and digital handouts

Senior Puppy Pre-School

• For  puppies aged 12 to 22 weeks
• Class run for 5 weeks on a Sunday afternoon at 3:00pm
• Small class sizes – No more than 6 puppies per class
• Provided mats, treats, toys and digital handouts
