Microchipping

Microchips are now a legal requirement for all dogs and cats. They are approximately the size of a grain of rice and hold a 15 digit number unique to your pet. They are implanted under the skin between the shoulder-blades in dogs and cats. In birds they are implanted in the pectoral (left chest) muscle.

There are multiple registries and we can log into a national register to search with this number to get the details of you and your pet. It is imperative to keep these details up to date so that if your pet was to go missing, you can be easily contacted and reunited if your pet is handed into the pound or local vet clinic.
